JESMOND

Many students are attracted to the upmarket area of Jesmond as it is very close to the Universities, RVI training hospital and the City centre. Osborne Road has a wide selection of bars and restaurants which are well known and very popular. There are a number of other very popular restaurants tucked away off Osborne Road which are well worth finding and sampling.

Many properties in Jesmond have been converted to student accommodation so you should find something matching your requirements whether it be a one bedroom flat or a large house.

West Jesmond Metro station allows for convenient commuting in and around Newcastle . It would be easy enough to walk or cycle into the City too.

The rents are at the higher end of the market as Jesmond is considered one of the more upmarket suburbs of Newcastle . The rents will vary depending on the accommodation on offer but you can expect to pay from around £65 per person per week for an average property.

SANDYFORD

Sandyford is the next door neighbour of Jesmond, also within walking distance of the City, Universities and RVI training hospital. The rents are slightly cheaper starting at around £60 per person per week. Sandyford seems to be the second choice for those who aren't quick enough to secure the popular Jesmond properties.

HEATON

Heaton is quite a large area north east of the City Centre. It is a very popular student area, being more affordable and with a variety of flats and houses on offer. There are very good public transport links via bus or Metro and Chillingham Road offers a good selection of shops. Average rents start from around £50 per person per week.

FENHAM AND ARTHUR'S HILL

Fenham and Arthur's Hill are situated in the West End of Newcastle and have a diverse multi-cultural population. These areas are very popular with overseas students and families. There are a number of primary schools plus the Westgate Community College and Newcastle College only a mile or two away. The West Road offers a variety of shops with good bus links into Newcastle too. There are many places of worship accommodating a wide selection of faiths. You will find bedsit accommodation going up to 7 bedroom houses within these areas. Average rents start at around £45 per person per week.

BENWELL AND ELSWICK

Benwell and Elswick are at the cheaper end of the market within the West End area of Newcastle . These areas are situated next door to Fenham and Arthur's Hill. You will find a variety of accommodation on offer from 1 bedroom flats to 4 bedroom houses. The rents in this area start from around £35 per person per week.
